Never been in a boat before? Do you want to see what kayaking’s all about? Then try a QuickStart clinic.

The QuickStart clinic is an ACA program that exposes you to the basic paddling and safety skills that are necessary to explore the different types of boats that are used in kayaking.

The QuickStart clinic covers the following topics:

  • logistics
  • paddling environment
  • terminology
  • equipment
  • safety
  • strokes and maneuvers
          Getting the equipment ready

The course is taught in recreational, touring, or sit-on-top kayaks. The techniques covered can be applied to any type of kayak (including whitewater kayaks).

Class size 5 students (maximum)
Location flatwater lake in Austin
Cost $75 (includes boat and equipment)
